Wanda J. Jacobs

Wanda J. Jacobs was born February 9, 1921 to Marie (Olson) and Fred Ashmore in Cushing, Iowa. She attended school in Cushing and Correctionville and graduated from Correctionville High School in 1938.

Wanda was united in marriage to Clifford Jacobs in February of 1940. To this union two children were born, John and Barbara. After marriage, Wanda worked with her husband to establish their insurance agency and bookkeeping and tax preparation business in Correctionville. After Clifford’s death in 1972, she continued operating the business until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two infant granddaughters; and in-laws, Fred and Sadie Jacobs, Wayne and Wilma Jacobs and Doris Briese.

Left to cherish Wanda’s memory are her children, John Jacobs Sr. and wife, Gayle of Correctionville, IA and Barbara Rowse and husband, Tom of Correctionville, IA; grandchildren, John “Buck” Jacobs Jr. and wife, Nancy, Robert “Bubba” Jacobs and wife, Nancy, Susan Durrenberger and husband, Scott, Elizabeth Rowse, and Carmen Martin and husband, Todd; seven great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fred Briese; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the intensive care staff at Mercy Medical Center for the care given to Wanda.
