Wilbur O Moller

February 5, 1929 — September 17, 2017

Wilbur O. Moller, age 88, of Holstein, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Unity Point Health – St. Luke’s of Sioux City.  A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church of Holstein with the Rev. Doresa K. Collogan officiating.  Burial will be at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein with military rites conducted by the American Legion Dessel – Schmidt Post #225 of Holstein.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at noon at the church.

Wilbur O. Moller was born February 5, 1929 to Emma (Nelson) and Berger Orting Moller on a farm near Galva, Iowa.  He was a graduate of Galva High School in 1946.  Upon graduation he entered the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Leonardwood, MO and Fort Bliss, TX.  He was discharged in 1952.

Wilbur was united in marriage to Dorothea Daugaard on October 28, 1951 in El Paso, Texas. To this union two children were born, Jacki and Wally.

During his lifetime, Wilbur worked at Max’s produce, Ellerbusch Enterprises, and Holstein Manufacturing, all in Holstein, before retiring.  He was a member of the Holstein United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and visiting his family in Arizona and Colorado.

He is survived by his daughter, Jacki Wilson of Avondale, AZ; son, Wally of Red Feather Lakes, CO; grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Daley and Jake Wilson; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Brenden Daley and Illiana, Hayden, Adalynn and Lily Wilson.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothea in December, 2012; brothers, Roy, Melvin and Harold Moller; and sister, Hilma Bellows.
